In my painting practice, I use glitter as a material strategy to interrogate ideas of value, visual perception, and aesthetic hierarchy. Its reflective and shifting surface disrupts traditional painterly stability, activating the work through light and movement. By drawing on associations with decoration and excess, glitter introduces tension between surface appeal and conceptual depth within the painted image.
